You don’t have to visit a museum in London to get to see cool art. Just walk the streets of Shoreditch instead. If you don’t know the area yet, make sure to stop by when you are planning a trip to London town. Shoreditch is where it all happens when you love eating street food, discovering new shops – more on that later – or when you are a hipster đ Just walk around Brick Lane or Boxpark and you’ll discover the coolest things. Walking around is free and there’s no queueing to get in, I’d say it’s even better than visiting a museum!
There’s something about street art that fascinates me and always has. I wrote my final high school project on the subject and in art school I even attempted to be a street artist. This resulted in not a lot of street art and mostly me getting busted and getting jailed for one night, which made me decide to leave this whole street art thing up to other people instead. I love how there are no rules in street art, as long as the artwork stands out on the streets. So a lot of artworks consist of loads of bright colours and familiar heroes – Walter White, David Lynch and Superman to name a few. I rounded up a few of my favourite pieces which I spotted during my recent trip to LDN in today’s post. Hope you enjoy them!
