The main ingredient of this blog are of course the outfit pictures. It was great fun for me to compile this post, since I now actually see some consistency in my style. It’s also kinda cool to see how I’ve developed: from taking pictures in the few streets around my house, to actually going to Amsterdam for a full day of blog shooting. This blog is a great visual scrapbook and a useful way of seeing my style develop. Thankfully I’ve had a bunch of photographers who’ve helped me out in my first year, but of course I’d like to give a big thanks to my boyfriend Scott, who has been my main photographer. It’s only been since the last 1,5 month that I started shooting with other bloggers. A massive thanks to blogger babes Virgit and Carmen, and also to Walter (my brother), Nur (my best friend) and my mom. Hope you enjoy this recap post!I managed to master the art of city trips and used my skills to see as much of London and Berlin as possible. It wasn’t the first time I visited those cities, so I kinda knew where to go, whilst also seeing new things. The best thing of it was that I ran into Paul Smith! I also took le boyfriend on a surprise trip to the picturesque town of Maastricht, in the south of the Netherlands. I know I’ve been talking about going to New York in 2013. Unfortunately that hasn’t happened, but I’m hoping to see the Big Apple this year. Another trip has already been planned: I’m visiting London again in july.

Getting asked by my fav store in the world ASOS to style 5 outfits was definitely a ‘pinch me’ moment. I also shot two looks for the lookbook of Dutch blazer brand Objection and worked with Portugese Sofie, French Valentine and Russian/American Oksana to show you how to wear 4 trends, 4 ways. This was a very fun project and also my first collab with other bloggers. I even met up with Oksana later this year, when she was travelling around Europe. I absolutely loved these projects and I hope I’ll be working on many more this year. I’ve also worked on some projects as a graphic designer, like the magazine for Team Kapsalon hairdressers (twice this year!) and illustrations for Dutch magazine Leven in Frankrijk.

I always wonder how people manage to find me in the forest of blogs that are out there already.
Since I first set foot in the blogging world, I’ve had quite some press, mostly on websites. I mentioned a few highlights above, like being picked (and published) as best outfit of the month for Dutch Glamour magazine, being featured by my fav UK mag Company as Blogger of the Week and being published in Candy Mag Streetstyle guide, a guide that features global top bloggers. It was also really fun to participate in the Ilovefashionbloggers Christmas video and the FollowFashion blogger battle. Then one day I got a gigantic spike in Instagram followers thanks to @OOTDMagazine.
It’s always honoring to be featured, because this means more people than just me and my mom enjoy what I’m doing on this little spot I claimed in cyberspace.
If you’d like to see more press features, click here! An important part of being blogger are, as it turns out, events. I still remember my very first event, organized by hippe-schoenen.nl. I was surprised to be invited and felt a little intimidated by other bloggers, but as it turns out all of these girls are lovely and I even became friends with some of them! I now love a good event, I can meet up with the girls whilst enjoying some good food and drinks and of course, seeing the latest collections of cool brands, before they are even in store. One of the best events was the Fashiolista x Levi’s x Lizzy van der Ligt event, because I went home with a brand new pair of Levi’s jeans and a Levi’s jacket and managed to land a job at Fashiolista! Of course that wasn’t the main reason, but when I started out, at least everyone already knew who I was.
Then of course there are the Amsterdam Fashion Weeks. I absolutely love the experience of a well-produced fashion show. The next AFW is already around the corner, but this year I won’t be able to attend that much shows.
So to round this all up, I’d like to thank you all for reading my ramblings and I’d love to know how I can make your experience even better. If there’s anything you’d like to know more about then let me know, I promise I won’t bite!
