We all have a blacklist of trends we promise ourselves not to wear again. In my case I’m talking about camo print. I remember rocking my camo pants like there was no tomorrow when Beyoncé and her following – a.k.a. a little girl group called Destiny’s Child – set the trend with their video ‘Survivor’ in the early 2000s.
Every girl wanted to be like them and we all felt so cool in our camo outfits. But then a lady named J.Lo came along, matched it with heeled Timberlands and big earrings and the trend went from trendy to tacky in a few seconds. In my book the camo trend was ruined completely. So far for my little throwback, let’s go back to the present.
I can’t pinpoint what exactly has gotten me into this print again. It might be my love for everything that reminds me of when I was still young – cue dramatic sigh -. It also could be the fact that the print itself is just very graphic and I love that it’s not army green for once.
Ok, I admit it: I still want to be like Queen Bey – who recently was spotted in a very similar Christopher Kane army print – but then again… who doesn’t?
One way or another, I immediately fell in love with this pretty dress from Boohoo and obviously couldn’t help but pairing it with a great biker jacket.
