Yes, it’s that time of year again! I’m talking about Amsterdam Fashion Week 🙂 This one was a very special one, as I was asked to be a Fashion Reporter for Zalando. In this report I’m not only giving you a peak into the runway shows, I’d also like to introduce you to the Zalando Downtown program. This program includes a lot of fun pop-up activities all over Amsterdam, which you don’t need a ticket for. I think this is really clever as this way everyone will get to see a bit of fashion week!
Our weekend started on Saturday evening, when blogger buddy Carmen (www.mydailyfashiondosis.com) and I found out we both had a separate room at the Ink Hotel, where we both found some awesome gifts from Zalando & Make Up Studio, yay!
After a good night sleep we had this amazing breakfast at Pressroom, which is part of Ink Hotel. I didn’t take too many pictures as I felt they didn’t capture the vibe, but boy, oh boy, this is one stylish restaurant and they make a mean cocktail – which we didn’t have at breakfast, obvi ;-).
We decided to put on our brand new Zalando outfits and with our tummies filled with yummies we went to Pllek, where we had a lovely lunch, because you can never have enough food, right?! At Pllek we found the Zalando Fashion House, which travelled around town during the whole of Amsterdam Fashion Week. This is where you could view a part of their current collection and get a hair & make-up touch-up. We both felt this was a nice opportunity to try out something new and went for big hair and loud make-up. Very fashion week appropriate!
After this we went back to Pressroom for some cocktails & dinner! I was surprised at how many different dishes they serve, all at very reasonable prices. I chose a quinoa salad and loved it, even when I’m not a salad person 😉
You would think we spent our day prancing around in fancy outfits and stuffing ourselves with food, but it’s still Fashion Week remember, so yes, we did visit some shows. It’s always nice to get inspired by new designers and it’s also a good opportunity to catch up with fashion friends. My favourite show I saw this day was by Susana Bettencourt, who used very nice knitting techniques.
After a busy day we headed home, feeling tired & inspired. Hope you liked the report, I really enjoyed this day as you can tell!
