If you know your way around the world wide web you probably came across this thing called SEO. SEO means Search Engine Optimization, which basically means that it will be easier for people to find you when they google a topic that you blog about. Some people treat it like science, others say no one actually knows what SEO is about, as the rules change everyday. I’m somewhere in between. I don’t want to dive into it too much, but yeah, I do want possible new readers to come across my blog. So I installed this nifty plugin called WordPress SEO by Yoast, which gives you a couple of simple options each time you write a blog post.
I presume you visited my blog before and if you did, you saw this thingy popping up at the bottom of a post where you could click to the next post in the same category. I installed this to lower my bounce rate a.k.a. the rate of readers leaving my blog after 1 post. That doesn’t have to be because my post was super boring, but maybe they just didn’t know what to look for next. This plugin makes it easy to click to the next post and it really works. My bounce rate percentage dropped rapidly after installing this plugin.
This plugin is only applicable if your theme uses featured images. If you check your Bloglovin profile chances are that none of your images showed up. This one helps solve that problem!

Another plugin that helps lowering your bounce rate. There’s so many of these plugins available and I think I tried them all. Most of them didn’t do what I wanted or were too complicated. YARPP is super basic and essential for any blog.
Rewardstyle Shop The Post
Sometimes blogging feels like a full-time job, but without the salary. Rewardstyle helps create a little bit of income through affiliate linking. Over the years they’ve developed a couple of plugins and my favourite is definitely Shop The Post. It’s the string of product images that you can see under each one of my outfit posts. Just click on any image and it will bring you to the item you’re desperate to get your hands (or feet) on, so you can click it home in just a few seconds. If you’re not a part of the Rewardstyle network yet, you can easily apply on their website.
I personally use many different plugins, but this list includes the essential ones you should know about. If you know any nice plugins I should know about, do let me know in the comment section! I’m still on the look out for a well-designed image slider, Instagram widget and popular posts plugin.
