THE NEW YORK DIARIES: POSTCARD VIEWS

New York is a great city at night, but if you like taking nice pictures daylight is kind of mandatory. So I was a little bummed that we went up the Empire State at night and did a boat tour at night. Both were wonderful experiences, but didn’t leave me  any great pictures. Obviously I wanted to capture as much of New York as I could, but it was our last full day in the city and I didn’t have a chance to snap one of those postcard views yet. At the end of the day we passed by Top Of The Rock and since we had a New York Pass we thought, why not go up there?

All seemed to go pretty smoothly, we purchased our tickets and continued our way up. Then suddenly it was loads of queues and security checks and I could see it getting a little darker outside already. Then a giggly security guard said “Oh, you’ll all catch the sunset! Don’t worry guys! Or wait, I don’t know, is it dark outside already?” So… that definitely didn’t make me feel better. 67 floors later we were at the top of the building and there it was. The most magical sunset ever! Apparently everyone wants to catch the New York sunset, so that’s why it was so busy. And while it was crowded, I still managed to shot a lot of cool pics. Each picture I took looked like a postcard, so I couldn’t help but share them with you.

Doesn’t this view make you totally want to go to NYC?
