Cold Method
Henriette Tilanius (Artez Institute of Arts, Arnhem)

Yup, I’m still yapping on about fashion week, but this post features my favourite part of the whole week, so you wouldn’t want to miss this!
First I took my brother to see a show by Cold Method, which is a brand he wears sometimes, so that was fun for him to see. I don’t get that excited for ready-to-wear menswear, except for when there’s the odd hot model or two on the runway.
It is the show after that which I got excited about. The ‘Lichting’ show features every freshly graduated fashion talent from art schools all over the Netherlands. Where every runway show usually takes around 5 minutes, this took much longer since it was a collection of runway shows. This was a really cool experience. Every show was very well executed, all with an entirely different vision. I thought it was awesome to see that the Netherlands has so many new talents. I’m looking forward to seeing what all of them have in store next.
At the end of the show the winner of the ‘G-Star RAW talent award’ was picked by an international panel of fashion insiders. A very hard decision I have to say. The winner was Henriette Tilanius, whose collection I loved. But if it were up to me I’d let Dewi Bekker be the winner. I loved her use or primary colours and the fun mix of materials.
Unfortunately I was so enthusiastic about all the shows that I kept frantically clicking away on the good old camera. So my battery died halfway through and I couldn’t take pictures of every collection. I did capture a bit of the winning collection and (almost) all of my favourites so this will have to suffice! Hope you enjoy watching the pictures as much as I did watching the shows!
