it’s pink and it’s offline

We all have had that experience where we go to the city centre in search of something (say a cute dress for a wedding or that pretty top for a night out in town) after which we come home empty handed and exhausted, several hours of frantically scanning every rack in every shop later.
It’s so much easier to shop online instead, right?

Well, for one time I didn’t! I had to have  the minute I saw it hanging in River Island, which made it a quite impulsive purchase.
It’s very unusual for me to make impulsive purchases and I almost never buy anything offline anymore.
I used to love shopping, but now it all seems like a hassle and most shops don’t sell items that suit my taste anyway.

I like shopping when I’m on a city trip, but that’s mostly because of the sentiment that comes with buying something unique abroad.
Which doesn’t even really apply anymore now that every store chain is spread all across Europe.

Usually I browse through online shops and add things to my wish list.
I think about it for a week, maybe two, and then purchase the things that stand out to me the most.Although a little discount may still convince me to sneakily click something that I wasn’t looking for in the first place home…

If I’m unsure how to wear a certain item I go to Pinterest for a little style inspo.
Isn’t it funny how much impact the internet has on our (or at least my) shopping behavior?
I do still enjoy the experience of going shopping with a friend, commenting on everything that’s in store and just trying some things on every once in a while.
It’s an easy way to get a grip on new trends, feel fabrics and see all colours in person.
That’s when I (unlike this time) come home empty handed and don’t mind.

A great example of a shop which combines online and offline experience is a Marks & Spencer shop in Amsterdam, which opened up recently.
They have a few items, which you can try out and buy online later. I really like innovative stuff like that.
.
Makes me wonder how this will develop in the future. What do you think our shopping behaviour will be like in the future? Would you still shop online (or offline) as much as you do now?
