5 reasons to love london

5 reasons to love london5 reasons to love londonThere’s actually a lot more reasons to love London than five. I’m walking around London as we speak, so I’m sure I’ll be coming back with more. No live blogging unfortunately, as my accommodation doesn’t have wifi. Here’s a list of a few things I’m looking forward to. Writing this definitely got me even more excited about visiting the city!

1. Shopping
Shopping in London is the bomb, period. When you go, make sure you’ve saved some money as you’ll run into loads of cute boutiques with unique things. My favourite and definitely not a boutique is the huge Topshop at Oxford Circus, I can literally spend hours there.

2. Food
One thing I love about visiting London town is the food. There are plenty of food markets to visit if you like eating organic, fresh bites. I’m also secretly looking forward to full on English breakfast.

3. Streetstyle
I always get so inspired when I visit the UK capital. Locals seem very confident and experimental with their style. It’s a great way to discover new trends that haven’t made it overseas yet. The Dutch way of dressing usually is ‘don’t stand out in a crowd’, so it’s very refreshing to see so many people take pride in dressing up.

4. Cultural stuff
London is heaven when it comes to museums. Last year I was lucky enough to visit a Paul Smith exhibition and run into the designer himself. A previous time I went to a legendary Damien Hirst exhibition. I know I’m going to a James Bond one this time, because that’s what my boyfriend’s into. I’ll be googling for a few ones on fashion or design!

5. Discovering new areas
When you visit the British capital for the first time it’s obvious to go for tourist attractions, but since this is probably my fifth time there, I would love to see new things. I’m looking forward to exploring Soho and Shoreditch a bit more. I’ve only seen a bit of those areas, but loved the atmosphere. And I’ll be on the hunt for those awesome pastel houses as a photoshoot location.

I know London a little now, but not nearly enough. I’m very lucky that my boyfriend’s mum is moving to the UK, so I’ll always have a place (and a reason) to stay.
I didn’t really plan anything for the next days, so I’d love to hear your tips on cool local spots and events to visit!
