A city break isn’t complete without a little break every once in a while. What I love to do is visit hotspots locals love to visit in different city areas. This really adds to the whole city break experience!
Café Henrie
This cute little café is totally Instagram proof. Those pink and turquoise tables will look so cool in your feed! Not to mention they make a mean avocado toast.

Brooklyn Diner
Your NYC visit won’t be complete without going to an all American diner. This one was my go-to place on my last NYC trip and it was again on this one! Their pancakes are just to die for, especially the wholewheat pancake with blueberries. Funny story: the Brooklyn Diner on 57th street has a special Jerry Seinfeld table. When I went there to have my delish pancakes, he was there too! He wasn’t too keen on having his picture taken, but we had a little chat. Pretty cool, right?

Houston Hall
When you think of having drinks in New York, you probably think of Cosmopolitans. I ended up drinking beer at Houston Hall. Not as glamorous, but definitely worth the visit. This place has an industrial, laid-back feel to it and has loads of special beers on tap. The area is really nice to walk around: close to the Highline and Greenwich Village, where house of the the one and only Carrie of SATC is at.

Milon
If you’re hungry or expecting good Indian food, don’t go to this place. Milon is a fun Indian restaurant you’ll love if you’re into kitschy, funky places. And if you’re a fan of Daredevil, because one scene was filmed there 😉 The restaurant is tiny and filled with crazy flags and lights. I don’t think I’ve seen any place like this!

Tacombi
This cute Mexican restaurant can be found in 3 different areas. The interior is amazing and I’ve heard the tacos are really good. Heard, because I haven’t actually tried them. We just had lunch when we stumbled upon this place. The people were really nice and gave us a little tour, which gave me the opportunity to snap thic pic. Will definitely try their food next time I’m in NYC.

Blue Bottle Coffee
In case you needed an excuse to go Williamsburg – but believe me, you don’t -, this is it! Blue Bottle Coffee has really tasty coffee and tea. This place is pretty big and a lot of locals use it as their work station.

The Meatball Shop
This may seem weird coming from a vegetarian, but I love the Meatball Shop. This low key restaurant has 6 different locations. The fun thing about this concept is that you can create your own dish choosing from different ingredients on the menu. A dish is pretty inexpensive and above all, very tasty!
