Yes! I’m in the mood for new things 🙂 First a new home and now a new lay-out. I haven’t even moved yet, we’ll get the key to our apartment this Monday. But going through old stuff while packing made me realize where I come from. You have to know that fashion isn’t really my first nature. Sure, I love expressing myself through personal style and this has always been quite natural to me. But what I really, really love is art, movies, music, design and traveling, which I remembered as I came across some old books and pictures I have always kept. The books were about my personal heroes, heroes like Andy Warhol, David LaChapelle and Piet Paris.  There’s nothing like being inspired by new things and discovering new places.
When I started this blog it was my intention to blog about all things I love, but somehow I shifted towards fashion. Maybe this was due to my blog name ‘A Dash Of Fash’. Or maybe it’s because I’m always stuck to my computer screen, not discovering enough new things. I really had to remind myself today that there’s an ‘A Dash Of’ in my blog name, like I’m not only about fashion. I mean, I went to art school and could have studied fashion but decided not to, as I thought it would be too superficial and monotonous. And here I am, blogging about fashion. Go figure!
This new lay-out is making it easier for you to navigate through different categories and brings more ‘hidden’ content to the surface. I’m proud of all content I created over the years and it would be a shame if you left the blog because you can’t find what you’re looking for 🙂 I was hoping to achieve something like this with my previous lay-out, but it didn’t quite cut it and even started to look a little messy, so I figured it was time for something new.  While doing this I also noticed how many posts are just me showing off an outfit, while I have so much more to tell. So stay tuned as things are going to change a little around here. Funny sidenote: I am literally writing this while David Bowie is singing about Changes in the background 😉 And here’s another change for ya: I’m working on creating a weekly newsletter featuring recent posts and exclusive content, which you can sign up for at the bottom of each post.
The blog lay-out isn’t finished yet, I’ll be adding some personal touches along the way. But I have to say I am really loving this clean look and all functionalities that come with it.
