5 ways to wear tartan

Tartan, checks, plaid… However you want to call it, this print has definitely replaced stripes as most popular print in my wardrobe. A bit of rock ‘n roll and a bit of class in one print, what’s not to love? In today’s post I’m showing you how versatile this print is.

My first real suit just had to be a  tartan suit. I really love the dandy feel to this one. It’s something you could wear to a job interview when dressed down, but also to a fashion show when dressed up. See the full post here.

Denim & tartan are a match made  in heaven. Both classics that can be worn with anything. Amplified when worn together. I love mixing these two materials on a daily basis and even though I wore this look 9 months ago, I would still wear it today. See the full look here.

I love love love red tartan prints, but if you’re style isn’t that out there, a subtle print will do as well. I received a lot of compliments on this classy coat and think a print like this works really well when mixed with other prints, like stripes. See the full look here.

Velvet can be a tricky material as it can make you look old or tacky. I love it though and was very happy to find this velvet (yay!) tartan (YAY!) jacket at a flea market. So here’s another tip for you, go to flea markets every once in a while to find cool gems like this one. See the full look here.

Tartan can definitely be treated as a neutral. Once you treat it that way you’ll see that it can be worn many different ways. I really love how it works with different materials, like the fur, patent and snakeskin materials you’re seeing in this look. See the full post here.
