PINSPIRATION: 60s & 70s style icons

If I would have a time machine end 60s/early 70s is what I would set it to. I spend quite some time on Pinterest looking for inspiration and mostly pin streetstyle pictures. This weekend I found myself pinning pictures that are a little different. No Kate Moss or Mira Duma, but Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot, Francoise Hardy and Jean Shrimpton are my new style icons. There’s so much to love about their styles and if you would wear what they wear today you’d still look über stylish. This was the kind of era when people would already have their personal style, but the word ‘casual’ didn’t apply to wardrobes yet – thank god! Streetstyle photographers or bloggers didn’t exist yet, so these girls just dressed that way because they liked to. This makes it look all the more effortless!

A lot of trends from back then are actually big trends this year. Faux fur, high boots mixed with short a-line dresses, flare pants… Bangs, a cropped do (which I’m slightly considering), some eyeliner, a few cool accessories and you’re ready to go. These ladies all make it seem so easy. These images are definitely what I’m going to be looking at for my next couple of outfits. Hope they inspire you too! Happy Sunday!
