There’s no doubt in my mind that summer is my favourite season. It’s my birthday season, plus it’s the season with the most sun hours. I’m still in denial that autumn has arrived, in fact, my home calendar is still stuck at August! I’m not hating on autumn if that’s what you think. There’s a thing or two (or five) to say about other people’s favourite season too.
New wardrobe
It’s always nice to find a new reason to go shopping, am I right ladies? I know I’ve mentioned it a couple of times already, but I am actually really excited for autumn fashion. There’s nothing like scoring a beautiful coat and a fresh pair of boots. I already picked some of my faves, which you’ll find here.
Nature’s finest moments
Aren’t autumn colours beautiful? I just love how all leaves turn orange, red and yellow. Their finest moment will definitely be during the golden hours. There’s just nothing like that soft autumnal afternoon light. I’m probably going to be a complete cliché and Instagram all of those picture perfect moments.
Not yet winter
78% of the time weather conditions aren’t what you’d call great during autumn. Don’t start complaining just yet, it could be worse. Because we all know what’s next. That’s right; winter. Blizzards, snow, ice and the absolute worst of all: not being able to wear heels. Yikes!
Autumn recipes
I’m pretty sure almost all ingredients for autumn recipes are my faves. As long as it has pumpkin or nuts in it, it will be my next favourite dish. My plan is to be more creative in the kitchen, so I might have to give some new recipes a try. How does pumpkin coconut stew sound to you?
A new wallpaper on the blog!
A new month means a new wallpaper. Autumn in The Netherlands usually means lots and lots of rain. So I borrowed the saying ‘It’s raining cats and dogs’ from the English and took it quite literal. I think it’s such a quirky way to put it and would love to see it raining actual cats and dogs one day 😉 For now this blog wallpaper will have to do. Fingers crossed that it won’t be a rainy autumn!
