THE NEW YORK DIARIES: CONEY ISLAND

Small confession: I’m no daredevil when it comes to rollercoasters. That didn’t stop me from checking out Coney Island and Lunar Park though. I tried out the obligatory rollercoaster, remembered why I never do those things and quickly dived into taking pictures. As a designer I love anything visually pleasing and this park is a feast to the eyes. You gotta love the retro kitsch vibe of this Brooklyn area. If you’re in New York for a longer period like me I definitely recommend visiting it. There’s enough amusement for a fun afternoon and you can get your hipster-y goodies at the Brooklyn Beach Shop. I only bought a cup with that creepy smiling fella on it there, but I am wearing some other new faves from NYC in this look.
I’m talking about the Moma x Uniqlo Keith Haring shirt I’m wearing and obviously I’m also talking about these awesome . I’ve mentioned the comeback of the shelltoe model before and I know I said I wasn’t too into it, but I immediately fell in love with those babies. I mean, come on. Some classics with rosegold metal detailing? That’s just too good to be true!

So time  flies when you’re having fun and I only have 1,5 day left in the city, but there’s plenty of posts coming up. So stay tuned and be sure to follow me on social media via #adashoffashgoesnyc and #marutigoesnyc!
