my london buys

One of my fave things about a city trip is shopping. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts I was on a budget this time, so I couldn’t go completely overboard on the shopping this time. Still I was happy enough to get some of my favourite things a.k.a. items from Topshop and magazines.

So here’s a list of things I bought:

Lemon print skort from Topshop
I really had to hold back when visiting Topshop. This literally is my favourite (offline) shop and I can buy about anything there. One of my favourite things about them is that they design the most beautiful prints. I immediately fell in love with this fresh lemon print, plus I’ve never worn a skort before. If you love it as much as I do, I saw a very similar one

Grey crop top from Topshop
Topshop basics are also really good. This crop top came in a lot of colours, but I decided to go for a simple grey. A good choice I must say; I’ve already worn this top in about 50% of my outfits since I’ve been back. Amazing value for money considering this top was only 8 pounds.

White necklace from Topshop
Obviously I had to browse the sale section. I came across this necklace and since I don’t own too many necklaces I thought it would be a nice add to my wardrobe. I’m trying to add some more white to my wardrobe for summer, so this seemed like a logical pick.

Flatform sandals from Bimba Y Lola
These babies already made their appearance on my blog here & here. I just loved the sporty material and bright green colour. They’re super duper comfy and they’re the closest I’ll get to making my dream of joining the Spice Girls come true.

IMG_0642My favourite magazines
Every time I visit the U.K. I go completely crazy on the magazine section of any department / book store. This time I kept it simple by only buying my 2 faves: Company & Nylon. I love how much U.K. & U.S. mags are ahead of the game design wise. Reading them just gives me tons of new inspiration.

M & V initials design mugs
The boy and I ran into these design mugs and immediately fell in love with the typeface. The downside of my name is that my initial (I) usually is nothing more than one boring line. So we went for M & V: ‘man’ and ‘vrouw’ or ‘man’ and ‘woman’ in English. Just so there won’t be any gender confusion in our household.

An awesome notebook
Best. Notebook. Ever. Also the most expensive thing I bought on my trip, since the cover is made of a very soft leather. I saw this print and immediately fell in love with it. The print was used on a lot of items; pillows, aprons, plates. But since you can’t have enough notebooks, I had to have this baby.

White bowler hat from Topshop
In case you wondered why I haven’t been wearing any hats lately; all of my hats are wool and I don’t like to run around with a sweaty head during summer. I was on the look out for a summer version, when I ran into this cutie. It was only 5 pounds in the Topshop sale section and as I was already meaning to add more white to my wardrobe, it really was the perfect buy.

Kiko highlighter stick
Totally forgot to include this one in the picture, but when I ran into a Kiko shop in London I just knew I had to have a highlighter stick. The stick gives a very subtle and natural glow to your skin. Their make up is amazing anyway.

So that’s it for today, a little peak into my expenses. Which item do you like most? And what do you usually buy on a holiday?
