I’m very happy I went to see this as it was truly inspiring. Mr. Smith never had any education in fashion design and maybe this is exactly why his way of thinking is so refreshing. He doesn’t own a smartphone or a computer and just travels around the world for inspiration. He always takes his camera with him so he can capture inspiring moments and images. I absolutely love this idea; you can zoom in on the tiniest detail and remember your inspiration the way you experienced it yourself. Works much better than Pinteresting all afternoon if you ask me, although I’m totally guilty of the aforementioned activity.
If you’re in London I definitely recommend visiting this. You’ll get to see how Paul Smith’s brand went from a tiny shop to a global brand. It also gives you an insight into Paul’s way of thinking and the different studies he’s worked from – which are totally crammed with cool gadgets and souvenirs. If you won’t be able to see it, well here’s a little peak at what it looked like!
