Good morning! 😉 There’s nothing like a good breakfast to start the day, right? Mine usually consists of oatmeal and coffee, which I always make with a milk substitute. There’s a couple of reasons I do this. I don’t really like the flavour of milk, I think there are a lot of healthier options and I’m mildly lactose intolerant. So when I heard that Healthy People was bringing new options to the market I obviously was super happy! I’m talking about their Almond Drink & Rice Drink, which are both really tasty.
½ cup rolled oats
1½ cup Healthy People rice drink
a handful of blueberries
a handful of dried goji berries
a couple of walnuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons maple syrup
Place your rolled oats & rice drink in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Stir from time to time, so it doesn’t stick to your pan. Boil for 5 – 10 minutes and you’re ready! Add the maple syrup, cinnamon on top and then serve with goji berries, blueberries and walnuts. Of course you can add any topping you want, I personally love a mix of sweet & sour flavours. Enjoy! And of course let me know if you’ve tried the recipe in the comments or on social media (@adashoffash).
