About a week ago I visited ShowUP, a tradeshow for interior & lifestyle brands. I went there with Kitsch Kitchen, an interior brand I work at 3 days a week. They display their new collection there for retailers & press and I designed a couple of things for them (prints for products, but also the catalogue for the new collection), which I’m really excited about. I love walking around the fair, discovering new brands and trends. A couple of trends stood out to me in particular.
The Cat print at Kitsch Kitchen is designed by me (YAY!) and will be available on several bags, oilcloth, drinking bottles and lunch boxes.
I’m a big fan of the ditsy prints over at NiceNiceNice. How cool is it that you can match your socks with your interior?!
Metallic is here to stay! I’m absolutely obsessed with the Diesel x Seletti collection. The cosmic theme is right up my street. I love fun accessories like this austronaut vase and can’t wait to add it to my own home.
&Klevering takes the trend one step further by mixing with pastels. Perfect for spring!
I immediately fell for Sandra of Funny Side Up‘s style, it’s so cute and whimsical, you can tell she enjoys making illustrations. Sandra told me she just started her brand, which I think is really cool. I love supporting fellow creatives and her illustrations are definitely worth checking out!
At the French brand Image Republic I spotted a completely different style, very minimalistic, referencing any pop idol you can imagine. Anyone that has Karl Lagerfeld on a product is my friend, but I also saw illustrations of stars like Pharrell and David Bowie.
The maps over at Franky Cherry definitely caught my attention. I always think it’s really cool to have memories of places you’ve visited in your home. These maps have very cute details, with different patterns.
I love a good quote and think typography is really fun to play around with. Sugarboo Designs has a lot of cute items with quotes in very different styles, from minimal to very decorative. I think there’s a little something for everyone.
At Seletti I spotted the next version of the neon letters I own. This time they used all caps for their letters, but the idea is still the same: you can mix & match letters to design your own quote.
Blossom Books is a publisher that decided to print their words on something other than just books. Smart thinking!
If you’re not good at keeping your plants alive, this trend is for you. It’s so much easier to add a couple of botanical accessories to your home. I spotted some gorgeous bugs at Catchii and a lot of tropical fun at &Klevering.
Which trend is your favourite and what would you get for your home? Would love to hear in the comments!
