My New Year’s resolutions

Generally I don’t really believe in New Year’s resolutions. If you want to get better at something, why start in January? But when a year passes it’s the perfect moment to look back on everything that has happened and think about what could be better. I also figured if I am going to write all of this down, it might as well be in the most public place possible, so I feel forced to keep my promise. Here we go:

Become a Victoria’s Secret Model

Yes, I’m guilty of putting the most cliché resolution you can possibly think of of on top of my list: going to the gym more often. When I started this blog I went to the gym at least 3 times a week. But when the blog got bigger, so did my butt 😉 I still have a gym membership, so I might as well use it before I’m seriously packing on the pounds. I’m not actually going to expect becoming a Victoria’s Secret model, but I better step my game up. The most important reason for working out? To clear my head and get some fresh energy. Having a bestie who is getting a yoga certificate and needs to practice on others really helps. So keep an eye out for #adashoffashworksout on my Insta 😉

Ditch the pizza

This one goes hand in hand with the gym time. Working life has taking its toll on my diet: it’s so easy to order a pizza instead of cooking a fresh meal. I’d love to challenge myself a bit more in the kitchen. I’m a vegetarian, but I always feel like vegan options are even healthier. I like eggs too much to become a full on vegan, but I’d love to cut out dairy and eat more veg, nuts and grains. When I do I might actually post the odd recipe on here!

Be a better grown-up

If you know me, you know I can be a bit chaotic – and that’s an understatement. I’ve always held this down to being creative, but now that I have grown-up responsibilities I feel like I can’t get away with this anymore. I really need to learn how to plan, schedule and set up budgets for myself.

Say yes more often

This can be saying yes to something new, something I’m scared or doubtful of, but it can also be saying yes more often to meeting friends & family. Since I’m not too good at planning I always feel like my schedule is full, making me say no to things a lot. I really feel like if I were to say yes to more things, my life would be more fun in general. And why would I say no to that?!

Swap random sale buys for investment pieces

My resolution when it comes to fashion. The only habit I kept from my student life is going sale shopping. I’ve always loved a good catch and always will. So I splurge on multiple items in the sale section, only to feel sorry later that I’m not able to afford that one gorgeous – but expensive – designer piece. This year it got me thinking. Is this what I want my style to be? A collection of leftovers I found in the sale? Eh, nope. That’s why I’ll be investing in more beautiful quality pieces by brands I love. Fingers crossed that I do find some of those on sale – or its going to conflict with my resolution on budgets!

Take a chill-pill

If I’m not writing posts for the blog / Instagramming, I’m either working at Kitsch Kitchen, taking meetings at brands, visiting events, meeting up with fellow bloggers or shooting outfits. Let’s just say I’m #nevernotworking. This is hard to avoid, as it’s just what it takes to be a blogger. Still, I feel like if I  had that planning bit of my life down to a t, I’d be able to take days off. So from now on I’m going to tell myself to shut my laptop and put my phone down more often.  So if there’s tumbleweed and crickets on my Insta, Snapchat & blog, you know what’s up. I’ll be reading a book, catching up with a friend, getting a massage or pedicure, without Instagramming it.

Make this blog a serious bizz

I’m a bit afraid that writing this down might jinx it, but oh, what the hell. The growth of this blog means I’m starting to make money off of it more & more. I’m not a millionaire or anything, but it’s starting to take up a serious part of my income. That’s why this year I’m actually planning to work hard for it. I’ll be jotting down goals and I’ll share them in an upcoming post, where I’ll be helping you find out your goals as well. Be sure to keep an eye on this space!
