Imagine it’s a regular week day and you’re at work, just doing your thing. Suddenly you receive a phone call: “We’d like you to come to London with us. Oh and it’s for Puma’s launch of the new Eskiva shoe. Yes, we do need your answer within the next hour. You’re going to London tomorrow.” That’s kind of what happened to me. Now how could I say no to that?! So off to London I went, together with the lovely girls from Cosmopolitan, Girlscene and Fashionscene.
Touch down in London town
When we arrived in London it was around dinner time, so after dropping off our bags at Shoreditch based hotel M by Montcalm, we searched for a place to eat. We ended up going to Dishoom, where we had absolutely delicious Indian food. We decided to go down the city center for some window shopping and admiring of all of the Christmas decorations. The absolute highlight was Carnaby street, which was filled with holographic stars and bright pink disco balls.
The Puma x Eskiva by Rihanna shoe launch
The next day was the day of the shoe launch. The Puma Eskiva is a vintage inspired boxing shoe, based on an old Puma model. Rihanna, Kylie Jenner and Cara Delevigne have been spotted in this shoe as well, so I’m sure it will be huge!
I really love the vintage-y vibe of the shoe and love the fact that they are a bit higher than your usual pair of sneakers. After a good breakfast all of us had the opportunity to style and shoot the trainers. Because they are high top sneakers I decided to pair them with a denim skirt. A glitter top and my beloved Furla baggie make the look a lot more fun and the long Topshop vest adds a chic touch.
We did walk around the city for a bit after the shoot and I can tell you that the Eskiva’s are comfy as hell! After a few hours it was off to home already, but I am so happy I got to go on this short break. Definitely a nice little preview of what is going to come when I’m in London again for the holidays.
Hope you enjoyed this post and I can’t wait to hear what you think of the Eskiva shoe! It is now available through PUMA stores and select lifestyle retailers with additional colourways releasing in Spring 2016. In The Netherlands, the Eskiva is available at Foot Locker.
